Deanna Depetro through the LOFFT LENS
Presenting Mossman Clothing Creative Director Deanna Depetro through the LOFFT LENS.
What/Who inspires you?
So many things and people inspire me everyday. The one that really stand out on a personal level would definitely be my mum. Being able to raise children, work, run a household, making her children a number one priority, instilling in us the core morals and values that still to this day are used in my every day life and be present day in and day out no matter how exhausted she may have been she shows strength and resilience and that for me is truly inspiring.
From a fashion perspective, anything from traveling, street style, architecture, seeing women in different countries owing their own style. But some of my favourite muses that constantly inspire me or my go to when I need some
Inspo for a collection would be Christine Centenera, Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham. I love the simplicity and minimalistic outfits that look so effortless but so chic at the same time.
Travel location you are dreaming about?
Definitely Europe, particularly Puglia in Italy. I can’t wait to feel that European sun on my skin and to indulge in their amazing pastas.
Your favourite hidden gem?
A place called Santa Margherita in Italy. It is a hidden gem of a town right next door to Portofino. It is a truly beautiful town that ticks all the boxes for me.
What are you currently binging?
I am currently reading The House of Gucci book which I cannot put down and cannot wait to finish. So far it’s so capturing and interesting learning about the history of the famous fashion house and all the trials and tribulations that take place within the family.
What does comfort mean to you?
Food. Food. Food. I love food. Who doesn’t love food. Pasta is my weakness and my favourite comfort food, I could it eat it every day of the week.
A cause you are passionate about?
The Daffodil Cancer Council
Your career highlight to date?
There have been so many amazing highlights in my career, which I’m so grateful for. But, the one that stands out the most to me is having a surviving business during Covid. Being able to overcome the business challenges of Covid and turning those challenges into opportunities and adapting to the ever-changing climate we live in today. This has certainly been such a highlight in my career to date.
Seeing the success of the business from just having the time to stop and reassess and look at my business model at Mossman from a much deeper perspective has been a game changer. Identifying missed opportunities that I probably wouldn’t have changed had I been continuing to be on the go 24/7.
Really taking the time to invest in crucial elements that have contributed to the growth and success we have achieved to date. But none of this is would have been possible with my incredible team and this for me is a massive highlight in my career.
